Vericon Foundation Inaugural Outing Raises Over $70,000 for Chi Chi Rodriquez Academy

An inaugural charity golf outing hosted on September 8th, 2015, kicked off the Vericon Foundation ‘s first year. The Foundation wanted to raise money to benefit the Chi Chi Rodriguez Academy, which helps children struggling in school.

When the Foundation came together, and after discussion of the philanthropy of the Vericon Foundation, we knew we wanted to something to help children, and the Chi Chi Rodriguez Academy was what we wanted. The Chi Chi Rodriguez Academy is located in Florida, and is a public private partnership school. The Academy works with 4th through 8th grade students who are not achieving in their grade level, have low self-esteem, or have difficulty adjusting to their academic environment.

Despite nearly record-high temperatures, over 100 golfers and volunteers were in attendance at Echo Lake Country Club in Westfield, NJ. Pro-golfer Chi Chi Rodriguez came out to enjoy the day with us as well.

Following a day of golfing, we had a dinner with prizes and raffles where proceeds totaled $71,362. All proceeds were donated to the Chi Chi Rodriguez Academy for scholarships.

The Academy works as a public private partnership between the county school system and the Chi Chi Rodriguez Youth Foundation. The school system identifies the children in need of this program, and provides the teachers and principal. The Foundation is in charge of providing assistants, facilities, and classroom materials.

The level of enthusiasm and support from sponsors surpassed all expectations, and the outing proved to be a successful and memorable inaugural event for the Vericon Foundation.
